Deena started with OSLC as an intern in 1999. Now a project coordinator for the KITS program, Deena oversees budgets, staffing, reporting and research related requirements for KITS. She acts as a liaison between school administration, facilities and transportation departments. She thinks creatively and makes things work!
Away from the office, Deena loves to garden. But running the summer school readiness program leaves little time. When she finds a quiet moment she usually has her head in a book or practicing some mindful meditation.
What does Deena think about the KITS program?
“KITS gives young children and parents an opportunity to start school academically, socially and behaviorally prepared, creating successful kids and confident parents who are more likely to stay involved.“
What’s her favorite children’s book?
“As a child I loved the Pokey Little Puppy, but find it sad as an adult. I loved Sandra Boyton books when my son was small, but we recently read aloud Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone (British Version) and loved it.”
